My NTS Journey

My NTS Journey: Jolie Richards

What drew you to NTS?

I originally started with NTS as a Marketing Specialist Intern while I completed my last semester of college in 2019. During that time, I was able to put my marketing skills and knowledge into action while learning a lot about NTS while interacting with different people across all departments in the company. As I neared graduation the opportunity to turn my internship into a full-time position was presented to me and it was one of the easiest yeses I’ve made.

When was that moment where you knew you’d made the right decisions to work at NTS?

I think the moment I knew I’d made the right decision to be a part of the NTS family came during my internship process, while seeing the culture displayed throughout the company. Everyone here is a team player, not just for their own team, but across the board. It’s so reassuring to know that one of the common phrases here at NTS is “Hey, how can I help you?”. Everyone truly has the mindset that a win for someone is a win for everyone. We all want to help each other grow the company in the best way possible, and it’s exciting to be able to interact with different people in the company once in a while who I might not get to work with closely on a day-to-day basis.

Tell me a little about how your career has grown since working at NTS

When I first started off, I was still in college, so I was a little nervous. I wondered what would come out of my internship and how things would turn out, and the learning process never stops, in a good way! Where I currently am today with NTS, I think that I’ve grown well, and today, tomorrow, and the next day it’s still going to be a learning process. I’ve been able to grow in my career, work, and personal journey due to the people I get to interact with here and the things we get to do to support our mission.

I couldn’t ask for a better situation as a marketer because with branding and marketing you’re always looking for the next best way to diversify, think differently, and enhance the brand, which allows me to collaborate with so many of our different teams. Not only does the marketing world never stop, meaning I get the opportunity to try out new marketing tactics to support our strategy, but it allows me to learn what works for us and what doesn’t, which makes me excited for the future of the NTS brand and all the things to come that I’m able to be a part of while being here.

What position did you start in and what is your current position?

When I started my journey with NTS, I was a marketing specialist intern, and my focus was all things social media and content analytics in addition to a range of other marketing related responsibilities. Following my internship, I was offered a full-time position where I am currently brand and marketing manager. I do still support all of the responsibilities I had while during my internship but there’s a much larger emphasis on our brand as a whole that I get to work on, which I love. It’s awesome to be able to be a part of the process of how we want to further position ourselves in the market and how other people view NTS. I always look at it as how we can further enhance our brand personality, and it’s been a really nice experience to be able to have an upper hand on how we want to stand out and present our brand, what types of content goes out and how it’s displayed, and the types of messages we’re pushing out.

What surprised you the most about NTS?

There is something powerful about being in a place where your ideas will always be heard, and that’s exactly the case at NTS. I feel extremely comfortable going to leadership and saying, “Hey, I have an idea…” and they’re always willing to listen and give feedback. I love the fact that within our company there’s such a level of comfort that people don’t hesitate to share their ideas. Everybody is always willing to listen. You don’t get that everywhere, sometimes people are really locked into a position that they have, maybe they express an idea, but it gets shut down really quickly or maybe they have to jump through hoops to reach a certain person that might be the one who can sign off on it.

I appreciate that our leadership is dialed in to our employees, they check in and ask how you’re doing, genuinely just to see how you are. I know that’s not the case everywhere, so I’m very, very lucky to be in a place where I can express ideas openly and be heard.

Here at NTS our people are our greatest asset, we invest in our employees and make sure everyone is appreciated, listened to, involved and challenged. Are you ready to join the NTS family? View our current open positions today.
